Grip

A low pH acidic pre-wash like Grip is applied as Step 1 in a two-step truck wash to break down inorganic surface contaminants including road film, mineral deposits, salt, and oxidation. The acidic formula neutralises the electrostatic bond holding traffic film to the vehicle surface, releasing it so the Step 2 alkaline detergent can remove organic soils and complete the clean. Using both steps together produces results that neither product achieves alone.

Yes. Grip is formulated to clean painted surfaces, aluminum, and stainless steel without etching or damage when applied and rinsed correctly at the recommended dilution rate (1:60 downstream from a 1:4 working solution). Do not allow Grip to dry on the surface before following with Step 2 (Rip) and rinsing. Always review the Safety Data Sheet before use and wear appropriate PPE. Grip should be allowed to dwell on the dry vehicle surface for 30 seconds to 1 minute after downstream application at 1:60. Apply Step 2 (Rip, high pH detergent) immediately after the dwell period, do not allow Grip to dry on the surface. Both steps should be followed by a thorough high-pressure rinse from top down.

Grip is designed to be used as Step 1 of a two-step process and should always be followed by a high pH detergent like Rip. Using Grip alone without Step 2 and a thorough rinse leaves acidic residue on the vehicle surface and produces significantly worse cleaning results than the full two-step process.

Commercial truck wash pre-soaks like Grip are formulated for professional fleet washing and concentrated for use with downstream injector systems, engineered to handle heavy road film, mineral scale, and oxidation build-up on large commercial vehicles. Standard vehicle cleaners are typically designed for hand washing with friction (brush or mitt) and are not formulated to remove the type or volume of inorganic contamination that accumulates on commercial truck fleets operating in heavy road conditions.
